You feel something smash into your head with enough force to knock you into the alley wall and slide down into the snow. Blood rushes into your eyes turning everything red. Your mind is clouded with pain as you attempt to stand up with hands and knees. A hit in the back drops you into the snow, it almost feels warm, ether with blood or pain. Your body pulses as it pumps adrenaline into useless muscles. Using all of your strength of mind and body you roll over, clenching your teeth in the effort. What fires burn within my heart and force me to contend With the perils that await me at this tragic journey's end? I have walked the roads that lead to hell, I have challenged all but fate. I hear the songs of the celestial heavens, and the music is discordant. It is strange but I find comfort in its dissonance. I went fishing today, I bought some worms and went out to the lake. The sky was more clear than I had ever seen. Sun beaming down on me near the water, I could feel warmth. I refuse to die. I will never die, not as long as I have a say in it. Many times I have been told. "Your a piece of shit" "You can't do this" "Your not fit to be here" Each and every time I have proved them wrong. Ether they have fucked up or something when they put me in this special unit. It is only meant for the best. I was not chosen because people like me, not because I have good people skills. I never stop. They put me through 14 weeks of horrific trails, awake for days, no food, having to march 60 km every 2 days. Having to fight people. We did hand to hand combat today, the sargents put us up against each other. I was able to watch myself do these things... there is someone named dog in my head... he couldnt focus on anything... he was so basic... his head was tilted to the side watching the other person, waiting until the sarge would say go... he tore across the open space between them, just doing what he has been shown and trained to do his whole life, make someone else bleed and/or die. After it was done he just looked around, at the grass, sky... the trees. He could see the beauty in it all... but never seen what he was doing... he was sooo pure
